Communities for Children

Dubbo – Wellington - Narromine

Funded by the Australian Government under the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy, Communities for Children aims to improve outcomes for children aged 0-5 through supporting the following:

  • healthy young families
  • early learning and development
  • creation of child-friendly communities
  • families and parenting
  • family and children’s services working effectively as a system

The Australian Government’s decision to work with communities directly to deliver programs for children aged 0-5 has led to a whole new way of doing business. This new approach embraces community partnerships, consultation and collaboration. Centacare facilitates the Communities for Children initiative in the Central West NSW towns of Dubbo, Narromine, Trangie and Wellington, and sub-contracts a number of Community Partners to provide services in support of families and children.

For more information about the consultation process, and to meet the Centacare Communities for Children team, visit the Communities for Children website.

Our vision

Our vision is that children and families living in Dubbo, Wellington, Narromine and Trangie will be better connected, supported and celebrated.
